Siru - Luce e Tradizione

Venice,

...where the normal streets and squares are “ calli, campielli and canals “, which for their colours, always offer fresh surprises...

...where the deep red of the bricks and the pale yellow of Istrian stone are reflected in the lagoon...

...where the unequalled richness of two millennia of art is rediscovered everyday by numberless visitors...

...where the Byzantine and Gothic unite elegantly in the Palladian style...

...where the lagoon islands make a magical background...

There, there is the Lido.     The island of the Lido is the base of SIRU, since 1991

COMPANY PROFILE
In one of the Venetian Lagoon islands, in an ageless place suspended between the past and the future, where modern and ancient are fused to create new forms, SIRU was born.
This firm, modern and “ avant-garde “, has been able to rediscover the tradition of local craftsmanship with particular attention to Venetian lamps. The art handed down the centuries through generations of craftsmen was weakening in time until it was almost extinct.
There are few mastercraftmen who have been able to preserve and pass on the secrets of this ancient skill and this has helped in making the lamps objects even more precious and therefore able to create a suggestive atmosphere. A sensation rediscovered thanks to SIRU.
SIRU reproposes past models, without altering the ancient feeling and maintaining the characteristic craftsmanship, also turning its attention to the contemporary proposing a modern and winning style in their new collections and entering, as a leader, in the panorama of indoor decorative illumination.
The experience acquired in the years has made “SIRU” able to create, also using clients’designs, personalised articles, for internal decoration and illumination of hotels, restaurants and shops.
All this takes place in a vision developed in time which is not simply remembered, but more correctly revisited, and in this way in the magical atmosphere of Venice one creates emotions for every place, a place that reveals its own light.
MANUFACTURE TECHNIQUES
From simple metal wires, ably shaped and welded to create new harmonious forms, take life the structures ready to enclose the luminous incandescent mass of molten glass.
In this initial stage the metal structure is constantly controlled, to avoid possible alterations in the form and dimension during the glass blowing.
The glass, blown inside by able mastercraftmen, is modelled and shaped taking form without the help of a mould.
